India loves its heroes, especially from the past. And it demonstrates its adulation by sculpting their statues and having them positioned at important roads, crossings, and building compounds.

According to one estimate, there are over 42 statues of Chhatrapati Shivaji alone in Maharashtra.

Gandhi, Ambedkar, Patel, Nehru, Bose, Shastri… numerous statues of theirs grace our urban landscape.

Pity, the statues don’t get the attention for their upkeep demands. Despite best of intention.

Men’s grooming brand, Wild Stone, is doing something remarkable. And it deserves our unconditional applause for it. It’s tied up with municipal corporations across cities to clean the statues. To restore them to the glory they deserve.

India’s National Heroes will look… well, like the heroes they deserve to look.
